Artist Akram Zaatari commissioned us to design graphs and maps for his solo show Against Photography: An Annotated History of the Arab Image Foundation tracing more than 20 years of activity and hundreds of thousands of images in the archive of the foundation he co-founded in Beirut.
Beyond showcasing a wide spectrum of visual representations of the Arab world, Akram Zaatari’s exhibition Against photography. An annotated history of the Arab Image Foundation addresses radical questions about photographic documents and their function in our times. We worked on the show’s multi-layered timeline for its first edition in Düsseldorf.
